My mood plummeted more in the past week than it has in several months. I've ascended up a little but from my rock bottom, but several factors in my life right now have contributed to my latest bout of depression. I don't see an end in sight, but I hope it comes soon.

On to my headline. I was scanning the news wires today, and look what I found:

Lack of sleep sends emotions off the deep end

I, the ultimate goody-two-shoes, am considering getting a tattoo. It would be one of ultimate dorkdom, however, and it would be very unobstrusive. I am holding off because I am unsure of whether I can handle the pain (as I have a very low pain threshold). If I get this tattoo, it is going to be on the inside of my right ankle (BELOW the bone, thank you very much) and it will say "[sic]." Sans period, of course. I have been thinking about getting it for months, ever since I saw my friend Kelly's question mark tattoo. I think that getting a small "[sic]" would be very me, because it would be small and discreet, yet it would show the grammar freak in me. Plus, it would be pretty cheap because it would just be black "type." No detail required (except maybe a Courier font). And when I'm an old lady, it won't look too silly because it will be on my ankle rather than, say, on my ass. I would have to coordinate a time when I would be off from work for a day or two, so I wouldn't kill myself trying to walk all over the place. I haven't told my mom, especially because I don't even know if I'll go through with it. If I get this, it means I can't be buried in a Jewish cemetery. A few years ago, I may have cared about that, but now I really don't.
P.S. I never found my wallet. I have replaced almost everything from it. I probably just threw it in the trash by accident or something. My new wallet is red, so it will be easier to spot in case I ever lose it.

I like how well the owner dealt with this.

SAGLE, Idaho - Bad dog. Charlie the black lab drove his owner's car

evening after returning from picking up a pizza, Charlie jumped into
the car through an open window, and apparently knocked the vehicle into
gear....

This is an excellent story by a Time staff writer. I got a couple of things, but two of my friends got me a really pretty necklace.

I also got some Starbucks gift cards (surprise, surprise), which were also awesome.
I'm really not feeling too upset about being single right now. I'm not interested in any guy. And there are also some other factors involved.
All in all, thing are going fine right now. There are a couple of things bothering me, but I've been keeping myself busy with work, friends and (surprise!) a gym membership. I joined last week (partially thanks to my friend Josy), and I hope I actually keep with it. I get a $10 a month discount for working at Publix, too.
As far as friends go, my social schedule has changed a bit. The friends I used to be really close with are no longer as close as they were, for a couple of reasons I've been spending a lot more time lately with friends I've met at school. There are some good and bad things about this, none of which I care to elaborate on.
I am delving into Stein right now. The book I'm reading now is pretty interesting, but I don't know if I will keep reading Stein. Her writing style is really very strange. For example: The book I'm reading now, it is not too long no it is actually pretty short. It is short. Less than 200 pages it is a short book and it is by Gertrude Stein.
On second thought, it could be fun to write like that....

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

It sure has been a while, hasn't it? Well, things are going pretty decently for me right now. I have a great roommate, the semester is almost over and I've cured my addictions to MySpace and Starbucks. (Though I still thoroughly enjoy the two, I can live without them for a time.) A couple of weeks ago, I did an eight-day MySpace detox. I am now on day seven of eight in my Starbucks detox. It's been tough, but doable. A really nice classmate of mine gave me a Starbucks gift card today when she heard me talking about it. She never goes there, but still. That was very nice of her.

I've realized that I need to stop complaining about my whole guy (or lack thereof) situation. I refuse to settle for a guy (there's not really anyone I'm interested in right now) just because I hate being alone, and I refuse to compromise and be with someone I just kind-of have some feelings for. Thus, I should stop complaining about being lonely all the time. I have a long history of whining, so breaking the habit is somewhat difficult.

In other news, there has been some work drama with rumors and such that almost caused a problem with a friendship. Gotta love it.

More on Sanjaya

So this is why Sanjaya is still on the show...

Weak `Idol' wannabe gets online support
