Happened to me once, too. I learned from that:
1. Never carry my SS card in my wallet. Leave it at home.
2. Make a photocopy of EVERYTHING in my wallet. Leave it at home. (Easy to cancel everything that way.)

Try to remember your credit card companies and start calling them to cancel old card #'s and get new card #'s. Tell your bank. And last, report it to the police. They recover lost purses/wallets all the time. That is to say that people turn purses/wallets that they find in fields, etc. in to them. That's what happened to my mom. She was mugged, and a couple of weeks later, somebody found her purse in a ditch about a mile away from where she was mugged.
